About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker. This position is responsible for maintaining all plant tooling which includes molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. The incumbent will ensure that all related standards with respect to cost, efficiency, personnel, and health and safety are maintained.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 4 years experience operating CNC making tools
  • Must possess skills in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours
  • Able to lift to 35 lbs. on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Operates standard machine shop tools and CNC controlled machinery to make tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts to the blueprint specifications
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures to maximize tooling life and minimize downtime.
  • Assists Engineering in the design of tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts
  • Maintains existing and new blueprints
  • Create and modify tooling designs using CAD/CAM software as required
  • Read and interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, Optical Comparator, CMM, and other quality measurement devices.
  • Assists Molding Department with mold processing when applicable
  • Maintains working knowledge of heat treating all tool steels and their characteristics for their proper use
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Rockwell Hardness tester on ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Maintains a powered industrial truck license to move molds with forklift, crane, and other mechanical devices
  • Follows environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
