This is a Union Position where shifts are assigned by seniority. The role requires manual machining experience. All employees are required to complete and pass a formal 6-month training program. Responsibilities include following written or verbal instructions, blueprints, and sketches, laying out work, and building and repairing tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts. The role also involves building and overhauling machinery, setting up and operating all tool room machines to specified tolerances, and using machinist’s hand and power tools and measuring instruments. Performing necessary mathematical calculations, and performing welding, brazing, and heat-treating operations when required are also key aspects of the job. Collaboration with operators and setup leads on the installation of new and revised setups is expected.
