About The Position

Electrolux is accepting applications for the Registered Apprenticeship Program for the occupation of Tool and Die Maker, in partnership with Volunteer State Community College and the US Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship. This pilot program offers 1 Electrolux employee a unique opportunity to gain advanced manufacturing skills, earn competitive wages, and build a long-term career in precision tooling. This opportunity is only available to current Electrolux employees. The Apprenticeship Program includes 27 core competencies and 311 hours of related instruction. The training program will cover skills such as: CNC Machining & Metal Cutting Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing Workplace Safety & OSHA Standards Welding, Hydraulics, Pneumatics Measurement & Quality Control Die Design, Jigs & Fixtures Communication, Teamwork & Critical Thinking On the job training includes: Assist in the assembly and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Learn to operate and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, EDM). Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications. Perform precision measurements and quality checks on machined components. Support tool trials, modifications, and troubleshooting activities. Participate in preventive maintenance of tools and dies. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Document work performed and maintained accurate records. During the 1st apprenticeship year wages are $25/hour, increasing to $28/hour in the second year. Upon successful completion, the apprentice may earn $31/hour as a Tool and Die Maker. Participation in this program is voluntary. Class work should be performed outside of work hours. Successful completion of both class and on the job training is required for continued participation in the Apprenticeship Program.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as an Electrolux employee in operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using machinery or mechanical equipment
  • Basic math, reading and computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license
  • Participation in this program is voluntary.
  • Class work should be performed outside of work hours.
  • Successful completion of both class and on the job training is required for continued participation in the Apprenticeship Program.
