About The Position

As a Tool Designer, you are designing and developing production tooling, fixtures, gauges, and automation support equipment that enable safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing. You are collaborating closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Tool Makers, CNC Machinists, and Production teams to support new product introductions, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience designing tooling, fixtures, manufacturing equipment, or automation systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • A strong understanding of machining, fabrication, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Familiarity with automation, robotics, and CNC machine.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Designing production tooling, fixtures, work holding devices, and gauges using 3D CAD software.
  • Creating detailed drawings, assemblies, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by delivering tooling solutions that meet project schedules and business objectives.
  • Collaborating with Tool Makers and CNC Machinists to ensure tooling designs are manufacturable and cost effective.
  • Supporting automation initiatives through fixture design and end‑of‑arm tooling development.
  • Driving continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing design improvements to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Supporting cross‑functional teams to ensure tooling solutions meet manufacturing and operational requirements.
