About The Position

Under the direction of the Tool Room Supervisor, the Tool Crib Attendant orders, receives, stores, and issues tool crib equipment, dies, materials, tool kits, etc. in support of production activities. This role involves disassembling and cleaning die sets and components, issuing tools and equipment, maintaining inventory records, preparing periodic and perpetual inventories, ordering and receiving supplies, making new tool kits, inspecting tooling for wear, organizing storage, assisting in setting up tool crib procedures, marking and identifying tools, cleaning and oiling tools, following clean-up and housekeeping procedures, complying with safety and quality procedures, and assisting with set up as time allows.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and write routine documentation and paperwork.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to stand and use hands to handle or touch objects, or controls. Occasionally required to sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel and taste or smell.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Attention to detail, service oriented, and self-motivated

Nice To Haves

1-2 years tool crib experience preferred

Responsibilities

Disassemble and clean die sets and components
Issue tools, tooling, tool kits, materials and equipment to workers. Maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned and input information into the computerized system.
Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Adjust inventory levels when discrepancies occur.
Prepare periodic inventory and maintain perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
Order, receive, unpack, and store incoming tools, tooling and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.
Make new Tool Kits and Pre-Set Tooling Carts to ensure availability when needed.
Inspect tooling for wear, send to vendors or tool room for regrinding, etc.
Organize storage of tools tooling, etc., maximizing storage space.
Assist in setting up tool crib procedures.
Mark and identify tools and equipment. Clean, oil and adjust tools and tooling.
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all safety and Quality procedures
Assist with set up as time allows
