About The Position

AHU Technologies INC. is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker for a role in Queens, NY. This position involves fabricating and repairing a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to precise tolerances. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various machine tools, analyzing blueprints, and developing efficient fabrication strategies. A strong commitment to quality, safety, and independent problem-solving is essential.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years of high school/vocational school.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a tool and die environment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications, including operative sheets, drawings, and sketches.
Demonstrated ability to use shop mathematics, including geometric and trigonometric formulas.
Experience working with close dimensional tolerances and using all types of precision measuring instruments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an apprentice program is a plus.

Responsibilities

Construct, alter, and repair a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to very close tolerances.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts.
Study specifications, engineering blueprints, and tool orders to plan work.
Draw preliminary sketches; prepare layout and detail drawings.
Develop efficient strategies for fabricating designed dies using the most suitable machining resources.
Meet all quality and efficiency expectations while complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.
