About The Position

Allfast Fastening Systems LLC is seeking a Tool and Die Maker II for their on-site, full-time, hourly position. The primary responsibility is to fabricate and/or repair precision carbide and steel tooling, including dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges, for the manufacture of aircraft quality fasteners. This role utilizes automatic and manual machines, cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in fabricating aircraft quality fastener tooling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
Frequently stand and sit.
Occasionally walk.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines required to fabricate parts.
Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
Measures, makes, and scribes metal stock for machining.
Tests functional performance of tooling under specified conditions.
Sets up and operates equipment such as lathe, milling machine, and grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
Analyzes results on defective tooling to determine the cause of failure.
Examines standard to previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of parts.
Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals, and schedules.
Performs record keeping, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
