How You’ll Make an Impact As a Tool & Die Machinist, you will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by repairing, fabricating, and maintaining molds, fixtures, assembly tools, and production equipment to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Over five years and up to seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using standard inspection tools.
  • Previous machine shop experience with conventional machine tools.
  • Ability to produce precision parts according to specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from a two-year technical college, preferably in tool and die repair, fabrication, or design.
  • Experience creating CNC programs for mill and lathe machines.
  • Experience designing or improving fixtures to increase manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Repair molds, fixtures, and tooling used in production operations.
  • Build, assemble, and disassemble components for fixtures, assembly tools, and machines.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate standard tool room equipment including conventional mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to determine methods, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
  • Create and program CNC code for Fryer CNC controls on mill and lathe machines.
  • Fabricate and implement new fixtures that improve productivity and reduce scrap and costs.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of parts using standard inspection tools.
  • Maintain 5S standards to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support installation, movement, and qualification of production equipment.
