About The Position

Paradise Christian School is seeking a Toddler Teacher for an Early Head Start program. This is a 12-month position. The teacher plans and delivers lessons to support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development, attends to their basic needs, and helps maintain a safe, supportive classroom. The role also involves working with families and colleagues and tracking and communicating children’s progress.

Requirements

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must meet DCF Child Care Introductory training requirements.
• Must have at least a CDA.
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening.
• Must have experience teaching infants and toddlers.
• Must be able to dance, sit on the floor, and carry young children.
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum.
• Knowledge of Teachstone CLASS.

Nice To Haves

• Preferable experience with Early Head Start.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons designed to facilitate students’ social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Encourage self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
• Attend to students’ basic needs, including feeding and dressing them.
• Mediate conflict between students.
• Model appropriate behaviors, even when not on duty.
• Ensure the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
• Liaise with families to gain insight into students’ home lives.
• Track and inform parents of students’ progress.
• Attend parent and staff meetings.
