Requirements

Minimum of 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education (required for NYS OCFS Group Teacher qualification)
2+ years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting
Strong understanding of toddler development and classroom management
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Willingness to complete all OCFS required trainings

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging toddler classroom (ages ~18–36 months)
Plan and implement play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with NYS standards
Support social-emotional development, language growth, and independence
Guide daily routines, transitions, and positive behavior support
Lead and mentor assistant teachers with kindness and clarity
Build strong, trusting relationships with families through daily communication
Maintain compliance with NYS OCFS regulations and center policies
Collaborate with teacher assistants, preschool teachers, and fellow caregivers to create a strong educational community.
