About The Position

The Toddler Classroom Teacher will work with a team to complete clear documentation and written reports that facilitate communication with parents, co-workers, and regulatory agents. This includes daily reports, lesson plans, newsletters, and professional development plans. The teacher will use a variety of communication strategies to support constructive relationships by being accessible, approachable, and engaged, integrating family requests and traditions into the classroom and providing non-judgmental support to parents. The role involves assessing each child's development using progress reports, screening instruments, direct observation, and information from families and stakeholders, and collaborating to communicate assessment information with the classroom team. The teacher will also maintain knowledge of and compliance with NAEYC code of ethics, city and state regulations, and accreditation requirements. This includes accurately completing Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) documentation and following food service rules. The position requires participation in improving organizational performance by recommending areas for improvement, performing new procedures, collecting data, and providing input. The teacher will collaborate with the classroom lead to maintain budget targets by recommending purchases, staffing structures, and process efficiencies. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the team to plan, implement, and communicate age-appropriate activities that facilitate the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of assigned children. This includes providing responsive, developmentally appropriate care for guiding children's behavior and engagement, such as inquiry, redirection, verbalizing feelings, encouraging problem-solving, and setting consistent limits. The teacher will maintain and demonstrate high-level knowledge of child development and evidence-based practice, and provide care and supervision of children in a child care or classroom setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of work experience in a related job discipline

  • Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
