About The Position

Buntyn Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Aftercare teacher to work with our toddlers and preschoolers during our afternoon aftercare program. This is a part-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm, totaling 15 hours per week. There are opportunities for extra hours as needed. The pay rate is $19.75-$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check and meet applicable Tennessee DHS requirements.
• Must successfully complete a required physical examination.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Experience working with children in a group setting is required.
• Must be dependable, patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoy working with children.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in early childhood education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
• Supervise toddlers or preschool-aged children during afternoon activities and play.
• Assist with age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, snacks, and routines.
• Maintain a positive and caring relationship with children and families.
• Follow all Buntyn Preschool policies and Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing requirements.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
