About The Position

United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a dynamic, experienced professional to cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gifts from local individuals and families for its Tocqueville Society. The Tocqueville Society comprises leading philanthropists who donate $10,000 or more annually to make a significant impact in the community. This role involves overseeing the retention, growth, and engagement of Tocqueville Society members and prospects, managing relationships, and directly soliciting gifts from a portfolio of 170-185 members and prospects. The Development Officer will develop and implement strategies to secure significant and deferred gifts through planned giving and estate plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • More than 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • At least three years in a role focused on major gifts identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition.
  • Experience and success in raising gifts at the $10,000+ level.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of experience with various types of planned giving instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gifts from local individuals and families.
  • Oversee the retention, growth, and engagement of all aspects concerning United Way's Tocqueville Society members and prospects.
  • Manage relationships and directly solicit gifts for a portfolio of 170-185 Tocqueville members and prospects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure significant and deferred gifts through planned giving, estate plans, and other gift vehicles.

Benefits

  • Annual Salary Pay Grade 109 Salary Range - $67,000 - $73,000
