Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent combined with extensive work experience in this field
  • Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, understand instructions and write clear communications in English
  • Ability to understand and operate complex machinery
  • Good visual acuity
  • Ability to lift heavy objects if required
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
  • At least 3-5 years of technical experience with mechanical machine repair
  • Ability to give guidance to technicians who are executing machine repairs
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documents
  • Ability to identify repeat failures and work with the maintenance planning side to update preventive maintenance task list
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance methods, and safety regulations
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Basic computer skills and documentation accuracy
  • Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies
  • May require shift work, overtime, and weekend availability

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Multiple years of experience operating and handling complex machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with power tools
  • Ability to run a milling machine and lathe
  • Ability to manufacture new parts (or repair broken ones) with what's available to prevent extensive downtimes
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or heavy industry
  • Familiarity with Lean Maintenance or TPM

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop maintenance staff, and ensure proper execution of maintenance and repair of production machines in a segment or facility equipment for plant buildings as assigned.
  • Monitor effectiveness of maintenance and repair activities, coordinate respective resources and processes.
  • Support Maintenance Technicians, and ensure achievement of agreed performance standards.
  • Manage service provider and continuously check for achievements of service level agreed, if required.
  • Guiding technicians who are performing mechanical machine repairs and mechanical tasks
  • Owning the process of escalating a situation that a technician out of the team can’t solve
  • Identifying repeat failures and work with the maintenance planning side to update preventive maintenance task list
  • Support troubleshooting activities and recognize the moment when somebody more advanced needs to be added to a job
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and coordinate rapid repairs
  • Ensure equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with standards
  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts usage
  • Enforce safety procedures and safe work practices
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments
  • Train, coach, and develop team members
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
  • Inspect mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Review maintenance schedules and prioritize urgent tasks
  • Assign technicians based on skill and workload
  • Verify quality of completed work and equipment performance
  • Support root cause analysis for repeated failures
  • Manage spare parts and maintenance tools
  • Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout and other safety requirements
