About The Position

The Title Specialist registers vehicles and ensures timely and accurate lien perfection to protect ORNL Federal Credit Union's secured interest. This position also researches, tracks, and obtains missing titles and required documentation to maintain portfolio integrity and compliance, as well as provides support to branches, team members, and members by addressing title-related inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely follow-up.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year in vehicle title and lien processing, or consumer lending within a financial institution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace, and the ability to adapt to and learn new technologies/systems/applications is required.
Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound (or their metric counterparts).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Strong ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

Tracks, researches, and obtains missing titles and required documentation to ensure timely lien perfection.
Contacts members and loan officers to obtain necessary documents for vehicle registration and lien notation.
Processes, tracks, and files UCC-1's.
Receives and processes title documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Registers vehicles with county clerk offices to secure and protect the credit union’s lien position.
Obtains and tracks temporary liens as needed to ensure continuous collateral coverage.
Assists members and coworkers with title-related inquiries, providing accurate information and timely resolution to support a positive member and employee experience.
Sorts, organizes, and distributes incoming mail to ensure timely and accurate handling of title and loan-related documentation.
Assists with correction adjustments by researching discrepancies and updating records to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
