Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Title IX Coordinator and Equal Opportunity Officer oversees the University's Title IX Policy, Pregnancy and Parenting Non-Discrimination Policy for Students, Inclusive Restroom Policy, Non-Fraternization Policy, Notice of Rights Under Title IX, Non-Discrimination Statement, and Non-Discrimination and Harassment Policy. The Title IX Coordinator and Equal Opportunity Officer conducts training for the University community to promote awareness and understanding of UTulsa's policies and procedures. It is responsible for the University’s efforts to ensure equal opportunity for all TU community members. This position works with students, employees, and stakeholders in ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and internal affirmative action, equal opportunity, and non-discrimination laws, regulations, and policies including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Affirmative Action rules and regulations, Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as other related non-discrimination requirements. The individual will work closely with the Student Advocate, General Counsel, Human Resources, Students Affairs, UTulsa Security, and others to maintain a safe, equitable, respectful, open, diverse, and inclusive living and working environment.
