About The Position

This position provides supplemental, in-person tutoring to English Learners in identified schools. The tutor will offer additional literacy intervention and content support in areas of weakness, preparing Learning Plans and activity/lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and goals. Instruction will be provided individually or in small groups to improve academic performance. Progress will be monitored and data analyzed to adjust instruction.

Requirements

• Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate at the T-4 level or higher in core content and/or ESOL, or meet the district's professional qualifications.
• Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
• Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Ability to be present at the physical worksite, as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supplemental, in-person tutoring after school, during the day, on Saturdays and/or during the summer.
• Work in identified schools with English Learners to provide additional literacy intervention and content support in identified areas of weakness.
• Prepare Learning Plans on Literacy and/or content area support for each student.
• Prepare activity/lesson plans for tutoring sessions according to student needs and goals.
• Provide individual or small group instruction to students to improve academic performance in the identified areas of need.
• Monitor progress and analyze data to tailor instruction based on the students ’ specific needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
