About The Position

This position is for a Title I Summer School Instructional Assistant at Saint Jude's School. The role involves providing small group instruction to students identified as at risk of failing or who are failing in reading, language arts, and math. The assistant works under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, who plans instructional activities and evaluates student achievement. The assistant is expected to work in close physical proximity to the teacher and will spend 100% of their time providing small group instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group instruction to Title I identified students at risk of failing or who are failing in reading, language arts, and math.
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of the elements of effective instruction to assist teaching and learning as developed by the certified staff.
• Provides assistance to certified teacher in collecting data for needs assessment, student selection, desired outcomes, and evaluation as requested.
• Maintains adequate records on student work, personal data and test scores as required by certified teacher.
• Works cooperatively with student services staff members and/or outside agencies as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned as needed.
