About The Position

This position is a 0.5 FTE located at Randolph Elementary School within Title I.

Requirements

  • Experience and willingness to conduct model lessons.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with colleagues.
  • Ability to analyze student performance data.
  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • K-5 Mathematics Specialist Certification (in progress or completed).
  • Strong content knowledge in mathematics.
  • Documented professional development in mathematics as a participant and as a leader.
  • At least five years of mathematics teaching experience in grades K-8.

Nice To Haves

  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists teachers in implementing an effective classroom mathematics program by: Monitoring and analyzing student achievement results.
  • Developing daily and long range plans and strategies with teachers.
  • Developing organizational and flexible grouping procedures with teachers.
  • Demonstrating teaching strategies and methods for teachers through model lessons with students.
  • Coordinating and facilitating communication about mathematics across grade levels and within grade levels.
  • Planning and providing appropriate professional development to Grades K-5.
  • Providing assistance to classroom teachers in implementing ideas and techniques gained through the professional development provided.
  • Facilitating parent and teacher communication about mathematics.
