About The Position

The Tire Technician is responsible for daily shop upkeep and safety, checking tire condition and making repairs or changes as needed. The role maintains shop order, reports necessary or missing supplies, and prepares vehicles and equipment for inspection. The employee must perform essential duties efficiently and accurately, with or without reasonable accommodation, without creating a significant safety threat to themselves or others. Requirements

• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a Tire Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mount and dismount tires.
• Maintain proper tire inventory.
• Fix flats on all units.
• Check daily for irregular tire wear and flats.
• Report needed tire supplies or tools to the foreman or manager.
• Assist the Porter with keeping the shop clean.
• Complete written vehicle inspections related to tire service.
• Rack or hoist equipment or vehicles for inspection.
• Report damaged or missing tools and equipment.
• Remove inner tubes from tires and inspect tire casings for defects such as holes or tears.
• Identify tire leaks by removing the inner tube.
• Inspect tires and inner tubes for potential defects.
