Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/tire technician experience required
  • English fluency (read, write, speak)
  • A minimum of 6-months forklift experience required
  • Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
  • Read and understand units of measure
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
  • Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

Nice To Haves

  • Past tire technician experience operating equipment of similar complexity preferred
  • Front end loader experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred (must have in order to jockey trailers)

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned production machinery line systems with minimal supervision
  • Conduct visual inspections of machinery and perform general preventive maintenance
  • Setup, operate, troubleshoot, adjust settings and maintain line machinery processes using control panels and mechanical practices
  • Operations include: Initial inspection, Repair, Regroove, Final inspection, Pressure test, Paint
  • Operate forklift to move and transport raw material
  • Organize work area on a continual basis in order to maintain a safe, efficient, productive and clean work environment by using air wands, vacuums, brooms and shovels
  • Ensure work area is blown down and cleared
  • Responsible for communicating changes in production and/or quality of product to shift/department Lead person
  • Submit work orders to supervisor; demonstrate ability to explain maintenance issues and troubleshoot general mechanical issues if Supervisor or Lead is unavailable
  • Cross train into other job functions providing assistance to other departments as necessary.
