About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is powered by more than 30,000 team members. This role is responsible for assisting members in the selection and purchase of tires, properly installing and repairing tires, completing necessary tire bay documentation, and maintaining tire bay policies and procedures. Team members are expected to carry out job functions as assigned, support club policies, act with honesty and integrity, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, move with speed and agility, innovate, adapt, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. They are also expected to deliver service excellence to members, resolve concerns, and ensure a safe environment. Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate) and Fast, Friendly Full, Fresh, Clean Club Standards is required. Team members should understand how to access and read production/financial reports and see the connection between execution and business impact. BJ’s Wholesale Club is a leading membership warehouse club with over 250 clubs, nearly 200 BJ’s Gas® stations and eight distribution centers across 21 states, headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn basic computer skills required.
  • Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
  • Ability to lift over 30 pounds with assistance.

  • Prior tire installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting members in the selection and purchase of tires.
  • Properly installing and repairing tires, including mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
  • Completing necessary tire bay documentation.
  • Maintaining tire bay policies and procedures.
  • Carrying out job functions and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Supporting the application of club policies, procedures and compliance.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity and leading with the member in mind to address any and all concerns and to escalate any concerns, as appropriate.

  • Ensuring all items are stocked and promotional plans executed.
  • Maintaining visible accurate signage.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized club, inside and out.
  • Understanding how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
  • Seeing the connection between consistent execution and the positive impact it can have on the business.
  • Responsible for properly disposing of tires.
  • Ensuring propane tanks are filled per club policy.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area.
  • Merchandising tire displays and automotive products.
  • Ensuring that knowledgeable service is provided to members at the tire desk.
  • Coordinating with Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
  • Maintaining an accurate and complete supply inventory.
  • Understanding and appropriately utilizing available special-order tire programs.
  • Complying with safety and cleanliness standards and properly utilizing tire bay equipment.
  • Assisting members in the selection and purchase of tires including verifying the sizes for vehicles.
  • Fills propane tanks as needed if certified per DOT requirements.
  • Provides knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk.
  • Ensures that all tire bay scheduling data and documentation is completed for sales and service orders.
  • Maintaining all club policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
