Tire Repair-Installation Service Tech - Memphis ,TN
About The Position
This position involves performing routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment in compliance with manufacturers and company schedules. The technician will need to access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and working on parts of trailers. This role requires the ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including outdoors in inclement weather. The technician will also be responsible for lifting objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, and performing various physical movements such as walking, reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Additionally, the role includes maintaining shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations such as DOT, EPA, OSHA, and others. The technician will perform safety inspections, follow company policies, participate in training, and perform other assigned duties, ensuring prompt daily attendance.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined.
- Experience in all phases of semi-trailer repairs (brakes, electrical, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications work).
- Experience in DOT inspections.
- Experience with tires (new and repairing, mount & dismount).
- Ability to safely walk & stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally).
- Ability to safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat & kneel as necessary.
- Knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA and other rules and regulations.
- Must have clean MVR.
- Must pass Drug Test.
- Must pass DOT physical.
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in all phases of semi-trailer repairs such as brakes, electrical, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications work.
- Experience in DOT inspections, welding, tires new and repairing, change (mount & dismount).
- Previous or current ASE certifications.
- Basic welding skills such as Oxy/Acetylene, ARC and MIG.
- 1 year of experience in Automotive repair.
- 1 year of experience in Customer service.
Responsibilities
