About The Position

The Tire Installer helps ensure clients are satisfied with their Western Auto purchasing experience. The role removes worn or defective tires and replaces them with new tires using the necessary tools and equipment. It also includes inspecting basic tire-related vehicle elements, installing and repairing tires, and providing tire-balancing services. The installer maintains a clean and safe workshop, follows company protection, safety, hygiene, and dress-code guidelines, and works professionally in a fast-paced environment. Battery installation is permitted when the employee is a mechanics student and a supervisor is nearby. The role requires completing Western Auto orientation training and meeting expectations for reliability, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge about vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Ability to drive vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, stress, and stressful situations professionally.
• Competitive attitude and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to continually stand, bend, kneel, twist, turn around, and lift weights up to approximately 75 lbs; weights may sometimes exceed 75 lbs.
• Complete Western Auto orientation training.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend training manuals, service tickets, and similar materials.
• Check basic elements of vehicle tires according to Western Auto’s tire and courtesy inspection methods.
• Install, replace, and repair tires, and provide tire-balancing services.
• Use tire installation machines, balancing and diagnostic equipment, and tire repair equipment.
• Operate workshop lifts appropriately.
• Perform workshop maintenance, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and maintaining equipment, emptying garbage bins, and cleaning the parking area.
• Install batteries only if a mechanics student and a supervisor is nearby.
• Follow company guidelines for protection, safety, hygiene, and dress code.
• Meet performance expectations for reliability, quality, and productivity.
