About The Position

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician, you will provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, aiming to deliver value to members. This role involves collaborative work with other associates to meet member expectations. Key aspects of the role include being a team member by fulfilling sales and service requests, educating and mentoring new technicians, and developing interpersonal skills for customer service. You will act as an expert by demonstrating knowledge of safety protocols, compliance, industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, and selling techniques. The position requires leveraging digital tools and handheld technology to drive sales, improve service, and make business decisions. As an owner, you will manage equipment needs, track returns and special orders, operate cash registers, process transactions, maintain inventory, audit safety standards, report issues, and complete documentation. You will also ensure merchandise is properly handled and assist members with purchasing decisions. Furthermore, the role involves being a talent ambassador by advocating for the brand, modeling high-quality service, influencing and inspiring a team-oriented work style, and assisting in training. The technician is expected to comply with company policies, complete work assignments, identify priorities, recommend improvements, embrace diversity, build relationships, strengthen the team, maintain integrity, deliver customer-first results, make informed decisions, display curiosity, and drive continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and efficient service in both sales and service areas of the Tire & Battery Center.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests.
  • Educate and mentor new technicians on tools, tasks, and resources.
  • Demonstrate expertise in safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring systems), product specifications, and seasonality.
  • Operate Point of Sale systems and apply phone and in-person selling techniques.
  • Leverage digital tools and handheld technology to drive sales, improve service, and make immediate business decisions.
  • Communicate equipment, tools, and supplies needs to the TBC Lead.
  • Track and monitor returns and special orders.
  • Operate cash registers and process transactions.
  • Work hands-on in the physical area, maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Audit safety and compliance standards.
  • Report TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, and work areas.
  • Complete all required paperwork, logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored according to company policies and procedures.
  • Identify member needs, assist with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Act as a brand advocate by valuing the members' experience and modeling high-quality service and products.
  • Develop, influence, and inspire others for working in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team-oriented.
  • Assist in training team members.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, and collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
