About The Position

The truck operator will be responsible for moving tankers in and out of the Fresh Chicken Dock. This role involves receiving incoming documents, maintaining the cleanliness of the receiving area, partnering with the Fresh Chicken Receiver to unload the tanker, returning the tanker to the staging area after unloading, and taking temperatures of the incoming tanker per the plant's standard operating procedures. The position also requires participation as a member of the team, fostering cohesiveness, and accepting responsibility to identify and resolve issues. The employee must be familiar with Simmons' operating systems and understand their role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas. This position description is intended to guide activities and is not meant to limit creativity or describe all required work. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use a seatbelt when riding in a company vehicle, and work in temperature extremes. Personal Protective Equipment includes a safety vest and radio.

Requirements

Must have a current CDL Class A license with 1 year of driving experience (DOT- specific).
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
High School Diploma.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to perform basic math.
Must lift up to 50 lbs.
Will use a seatbelt when riding in a company vehicle.
Must be able to work in temperature extremes.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
