About The Position

The Buehler’s Tipped Server is the face of Buehler’s as they interact directly with our customers. The Tipped Server’s sole responsibility is to ensure that our loyal customers have an exceptional dining experience each and every time they choose to dine with us. To deliver this exceptional service, the Tipped Server works closely with the Food Service teams to ensure that each meal is delivered to the customer in a timely manner. A typical day for a Tipped Server may include: Seating our customers as they enter the restaurant in a timely manner, greeting them warmly and taking their drink order promptly. You will assist customers in their order selection and anticipate additional items they may want. You will also be responsible for totaling customer bills correctly, working closely with BOH Line Cooks to ensure orders are accurate and served promptly. Maintaining cleanliness by promptly cleaning tables after customers leave, pre-bussing and bussing tables, and ensuring the dining room is spotless (tables, floors, walls). You will follow procedures for safety and uphold Buehler’s policies regarding a workplace free of harassment, bullying and discrimination. This role also includes setting up and closing dining room routines. In some locations, you may assist with Community Room duties as assigned. As part of the Food Service team, there may be times when your assistance is needed in BOH or our Catering Department. These responsibilities may include assisting BOH with food prep, including operating the grill, fryers and related equipment. You will set up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems, complying with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. You will observe proper food handling techniques and store food properly and safely, marking the date and item. You will also work at our catered events, assisting with setup, serving, bartending, tear down, or any other role needed. Other duties as directed or assigned to support total store operations. Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement: 16-18 (unable to serve beer, wine or alcohol); 19 years of age (to serve beer and wine); 21 (to serve alcohol).
  • Able to meet the requirements to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# and occasionally 80#.
  • Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to perform simple math problems.
  • Able to work within a deli/kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, fire, and noise.
  • Must be available to be scheduled 10+ hours a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs.

  • Assist with Community Room duties as assigned in some locations.
  • Assist BOH as needed with food preparation, including operating equipment like grills and fryers.
  • Set up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures.
  • Comply with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Observe proper food handling techniques and safe food storage.
  • Work at catered events in various roles (setup, server, bartender, tear down).
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned to support store operations.
