About The Position

Dumas is a leading full-service mining contractor operating in the Americas. The company’s client list includes some of the world’s largest and most respected mining companies. Dumas is the contractor of choice for the most technically challenging underground projects, including mine construction, full-scale mine development, production mining, mine services and engineering. The Time and Attendance Specialist will work collaboratively with Operations and the Dumas Payroll Team to ensure all time & absenteeism data is complete and correct. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a positive team attitude. The ability to work proactively and prioritize is essential.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of payroll processes, employment standards and provincial legislation.
  • Superior computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Office and Payroll/Time Tracking Software.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in payroll.

Nice To Haves

  • French is an asset.
  • Certified Payroll Practitioner an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Dumas Payroll Team and other internal departments.
  • Maintain UKG Time and Attendance system (system administration, security, settings).
  • Maintain Employees in UTA (jobs, teams).
  • Generate and organize UTA Reports as well as editing and creating as required.
  • Validate all time and attendance entries (including punch clock and site clerk entries).
  • Enter and authorize time when required.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies with hours, overtime and allowances before processing.
  • Validate and organize UKG notifications.
  • Assist the Payroll Administrators with the preparation and processing of Hourly and Salaried payroll.
  • Perform data retrieval, research, analysis and reporting as requested.
  • Complete required documents including records of employment, HRDC forms and employment earnings requests.
