About The Position

Phoenix Laser Solutions is the largest YAG laser weld house in North America, with five locations across the Midwest. We specialize in repairing, modifying, and assembling high-precision components such as injection molding dies, tooling, and aerospace and medical parts using laser welding, TIG welding, and cladding. By integrating advanced additive manufacturing with conventional welding, we provide repairs and surface enhancements that are beyond the capabilities of most weld shops. Requirements

• TIG welding experience, ideally on Tool & Die components
• Able to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
• Creative problem solver who thinks "outside the box" on tough repairs
• Self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Sit for extended periods
• Pass a vision screening
• Perform repetitive, high-precision work
• Available for overtime during peak workloads or special projects

Nice To Haves

• No laser experience is needed. We'll train the right candidate.
• Strong TIG fundamentals and attention to detail matter most.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld Tool & Die components to tight tolerances
• Laser weld components (training provided)
• Select the right material, weld wire, and filler for each job
• Prepare parts for welding: grinding, cleaning, and fit-up
• Work from complex blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions
• Measure, verify, and document dimensions and tolerances
• Choose the right welding approach for each application
• Inspect finished parts for quality
• Help improve shop processes
