About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support the intelligence community by providing, operating, and assuring critical voice, video, and collaboration services. This role involves supporting the customer’s computer data communications systems, including design specifications, testing, inspections, upgrades, and analysis of hardware and software solutions through network modeling. The position requires a minimum of 5 days per week in the office at the customer site in Aurora, CO, with no relocation offered. The technician will install and maintain client LAN/WAN devices, respond to and resolve incidents, troubleshoot, and communicate with the team, ensuring tasks are completed within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education (Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years).
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
  • Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs).
  • Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE).
  • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs).
  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process.
  • Experience with Visio.
  • Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrating troubleshooting skills and communicating with the team.
  • Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests.
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
  • Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records are accurate, and conducting inventory.
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.

  • Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.
  • May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.
