About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations, this position assumes responsibility for secondary software and hardware technical support within the ITS team. This position installs and maintains software, manages Microsoft and Apple application master software packages and identifies procedures for installation and maintenance of all campus computer applications on computers and virtual desktop hosts. This position works collaboratively with other ITS team members to maintain campus desktop and mobile computers as requested. This position provides remote and in-person technology support, consultations and assistance to faculty, staff, and students in the use of computing systems (hardware, software, data, procedures) at Century College as needed. This position requires team and independent work and will be assigned various individual projects to coordinate with other members of the Tier 2 and broader ITS team.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in a help desk/workstation support role (an associate’s degree in technology or closely related field may substitute for one year of experience; a bachelor's degree in technology or other closely related field may substitute for two years of experience).
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex Microsoft/Apple computer hardware and software problems to final resolution.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate technology terminology to non-technical customers verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience working in an educational environment (K12 or Higher Education).
  • Experience using Microsoft and Apple technology management solutions (SCCM/InTune/JAMF/ Apple Deploy).
  • Experience using and understanding Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, Scripting (e.g. PowerShell).
  • Professional experience supporting more than 1000 users.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend, image/install, secure, configure, test, and maintain college end-user computing and peripheral hardware resources (e.g. scanners/printers).
  • Review software requirements, security, install, test, upgrade and maintain college computing software both on campus hardware and in virtual desktop environments complying with all software licensing requirements.
  • Implement budgeted projects as identified by the college.
  • Assist with campus network support including hardware and software.
