About The Position

The role is a staff position within the TIEH (Treatment of Individuals Experiencing Homelessness) program, a collaborative initiative based at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Shelter (Safe Harbor). It is funded by Pinellas County Health and Human Services and involves partnerships with Boley Centers, PCSO, Pinellas County, and Eleos.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates ability to operate basic office equipment accurately, including fax, telephone system, laptop/tablet, iCarol, Avator and Care Connect programs, and copier/scanner.
  • Practices professional email etiquette particularly with regard to sensitive information.
  • Eligibility through a Level II background screening with AHCA and DCF.
  • Licensed in the State of Florida as a psychologist, social worker, mental health counselor, or marriage and family therapist (LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC) and/or certification in the filed of addictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and utilize clinical judgment.
  • Familiar with Florida Baker Act Laws.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members to deliver evidence-based, high-quality screenings, assessments, and interventions.
  • Provide crisis counseling to individuals in need.
  • Facilitate resource planning, including direct linkages to partnering agencies, related services, and community-based formal and informal supports.
  • Perform lethality and risk assessments to ensure appropriate levels of care.
  • Initiate the Baker Act when necessary, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all interventions align with best practices and meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Conducts follow-up calls and performs additional duties as assigned.
