About The Position

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is seeking part-time box office representatives to process ticket sales, exchanges, subscriptions, and donations in person and by telephone at the Theater Square Box Office location. These individuals should demonstrate excellent customer service skills as they interact with Cultural District patrons, members, and donors. Ticketsellers will be required to maintain knowledge of performances throughout the Cultural District. Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Applicants must be able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. This is a part-time, union position with a starting wage of $18.12/hour.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, sales, telemarketing, or retail environment required.
  • Experience dealing with the public in a face-to-face manner required.
  • Cash-handling experience and familiarity with ticketing systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, outstanding communications, problem solving, diplomacy, and customer service orientation.
  • Able to maintain calm demeanor and work effectively in a fast-paced and hectic environment.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable handling cash on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite preferred.
  • Familiarity and comfort with a ticketing system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering the highest level of face-to-face customer service and support to patrons at the box offices and on the telephone.
  • Staffing box offices at Pittsburgh Cultural Trust owned or operated venues including but not limited to the box offices at Theater Square, Benedum Center, Byham Theater, and O’Reilly Theater.
  • Filling company orders, VIP requests, and comp ticket offers, and working with Development and Marketing on processing Member and Sponsor requests as needed.
  • Fulfilling customer ticketing requests via telephone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Working with Guest Services management on overseeing and fulfilling special promotional offers.
  • Staffing the venue Guest Services areas and working with House Management to resolve patron seating issues prior to and during performances.
  • Communicating current and accurate information to patrons concerning performances and ticket policies.
  • Assisting with processing single ticket and subscription phone sales as needed.
  • Working to maintain accurate patron information in the ticketing database.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned.
