About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking ticketed Blasters to join our valued client's team at mining operations in Saskatchewan. This is a full-time, rotational position on a production drill and blast crew, paying $35.00 to $40.00 per hour plus a $70.00 per day living out allowance, with accommodations provided. You will load and fire shot patterns to an approved blast design, working alongside drillers, ground crew, and mine engineering against a daily production plan. Explosives handling, storage, transport, and disposal follow site procedure and provincial regulation at every step. Your blaster's certificate is the qualification for this role, so you are hired for the ticket you already hold.

Requirements

  • Valid Saskatchewan blaster's certificate, current and in good standing
  • Two or more years of blasting experience in a mining or heavy industrial setting
  • Working knowledge of explosives handling, storage, and transport regulations
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test
  • Valid driver's licence and a current driver's abstract
  • Physically able to work rotational shifts in all conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Underground blasting experience, or potash and uranium site experience
  • Common Core, surface miner, or underground mining modules
  • Electronic detonator systems, emulsion loading, or bulk explosives truck experience
  • Ground control, mine rescue, or first aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Load, prime, tie in, and fire shot patterns to the approved blast design
  • Inspect drill patterns and confirm hole depth, spacing, and condition before loading
  • Handle, transport, store, and account for explosives and detonators to regulation
  • Conduct pre-blast clearance and post-blast inspection, including misfire procedures
  • Complete blast reports, magazine records, and daily documentation accurately
  • Work with mine engineering on pattern adjustments for ground conditions and fragmentation
  • Participate in site safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks
