Job Summary This position provides leadership for the centralized Carpenter Center Ticket Office (CCTO). This position is responsible for overseeing and developing strategies for the use of the online ticketing system, providing lead work direction to ticket office staff, and overseeing accurate financial accounting of ticket sales for the CCTO. The CCTO is a high impact unit responsible for the selling and accounting of all tickets for the College of the Arts and any other related functions held in the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theatre, Gerald R. Daniel Recital Hall, University Theatre, Studio Theatre and off-site theatres, as required.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate possesses thorough knowledge of ticket office operations and the ability to apply extensive expertise in navigating related laws, policies, and regulations.
  • They take initiative and independently plan, organize, and execute work while approaching problems from a broad, interactive perspective to identify underlying principles and develop strategic, effective solutions.
  • This candidate excels in working with representatives from both public and private sectors, handling sensitive or complex situations with professionalism, and demonstrates strong consultative skills when collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • They are also an effective supervisor, capable of leading staff and student employees, and are skilled in training others on new procedures, systems, and operational practices.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop strategies for use of the online ticketing system by a broad range of on- and off-campus entities.
  • Supervise accounting of tickets and receipts, assist in maintaining controls and procedures for cash handling, audits and sales reports.
  • Hire, supervise, schedule and train full time staff and student assistants for the ticketing office.
  • Address complex technical problems with ticketing system and related technology.
  • Use ingenuity to create and implement techniques for transforming raw ticketing data into usable formats.
