About The Position

This role involves coordinating overall cost analysis activities on one or more major complex projects, assuming responsibility for the preparation, quality, and accuracy of project cost reports. It establishes liaison with project management and clients on all matters relating to cost control, makes periodic site visits to verify field cost reporting, and assigns and reviews the work of subordinate cost analysis staff. The position proactively sets priorities related to complex situations having multi-project and/or organizational impact. Contributions are primarily technical rather than managerial, and the role may be involved in guiding strategies. Work is assigned in terms of broad objectives and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach, and general effectiveness, ensuring conformity with policy and coordination of other company departments. The role provides technical guidance to staff, reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy, and plans, controls, and reports on project work. It may involve direct reports and recommendations concerning selection, training, rating, and discipline of staff. Seasoned ability to inform and persuade on complex matters comes from recognition as a subject matter expert, and the role is utilized on complex and difficult problems. An advanced understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to the field is required, with the ability to assist others and troubleshoot issues. Involvement in the development of new systems, processes, and tools may also occur.

Requirements

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Recognized as a specialist, providing consultation to others
  • Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field
