Throttle Dancer Auditions
About The Position
SeaWorld Orlando is seeking talented male and female dancers for a high-energy Halloween show for Howl-O-Scream 2026. This role requires comfort performing in an adult-themed Halloween event and an athletic physique. We encourage performers of all backgrounds and identities to audition. The show involves fierce choreography, dark storytelling, and hauntingly unforgettable performances. Rehearsals begin in August, and the event runs on select nights from September 18 to October 31. Compensation is competitive with a contract completion bonus. The audition will consist of an advanced dance combination, and participants may also be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination.
Requirements
- Must be comfortable performing in an adult-themed Halloween event.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Seeking male presenting dancers proficient in jazz/hip hop/street styles.
- Seeking female presenting dancers proficient in feminine commercial style jazz.
- Some roles require tumbling and/or fight choreography.
- Must possess an athletic physique.
- Available for all event dates (select nights September 18 – October 31).
- Available for evening rehearsals August - September.
- Wear form-fitting attire.
- Wear closed-toed dance or athletic shoes.
- Bring water.
- Bring a headshot and resume.
- Learn a dance combination.
- Participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises.
- Movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination (for costumed character auditions).
- Wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement.
- Wear tennis or jazz shoes.
- Do not wear jeans.
Nice To Haves
- Proficient in jazz/hip hop/street styles (male presenting).
- Proficient in feminine commercial style jazz (female presenting).
- Tumbling and/or fight choreography skills.
- Performers of all backgrounds and identities are encouraged to audition.
- Technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern (general dancer description).
- Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus (general dancer description).
- Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar (instrumentalist description).
- Ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence (instrumentalist description).
- Enthusiastic performers passionate about Halloween (Scare Squad description).
- Great energy and stage presence (vocalist description).
- Technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling (vocalist description).
- Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must (vocalist description).
- Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred (vocalist description).
Responsibilities

- Bring the night to life with fierce choreography, dark storytelling, and hauntingly unforgettable performances.
- Learn and perform advanced dance combinations.

- Greet guests, shake hands, pose for pictures, and give hugs (if applicable to costumed character roles).
- Act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions (if applicable to costumed character roles).
