About The Position
Responsible to maintain: orderly checkout of all sales transactions, a cordial working relationship with volunteers, including suggestions regarding assignment of tasks. Position represents Minnesota Valley Action Council in dealing with customers and vendors with questions, complaints, special needs and/or language barriers. Working with those who donate by monitoring – i.e. accepting, limiting, rejecting, directing articles brought to the Thrift Store. Provides customers with tax deduction forms.
Requirements
- Applicant must have a high school diploma/ GED.
- Ability to follow written regulations and policies.
- Aptitude for business math.
- This position requires good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of people in a busy work environment required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with the public desired.
- Strong organizational, verbal communication, and customer service skills desired.
Responsibilities
- Opening Thrift Store procedures: Prepare cash register for daily sales transactions, opening locked facilities.
- Oversee the quality control of clothing that involves the daily sorting, marking, hanging, lifting, and selling of merchandise.
- Records ending balance, reconcile daily receipts, and makes daily change.
- Follows closing procedures.
