Requirements

• High school diploma / GED required
• Ability to manage time independently in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision
• Must be able to run the cash register without assistance upon completion of training.

Nice To Haves

• Thrift store and/or merchandising experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the thrift store.
• Maximizing revenues through use of approved marketing and display techniques, appropriate pricing practices and excellent customer service.
• Accepting, processing and pricing donations providing the best customer service to both donors and customers.
• Assisting customers with loading and unloading their donations/purchases, including furniture items.
• Processing donations quickly and efficiently which can be up to about 700 garments or about 40 boxes of hard goods in a shift.
• Assisting volunteers with thrift store operations, including training on cash register, receiving donations, processing and customer service.
• Working closely with Thrift Store Drivers to ensure prompt pickups of donated items.
• Being ready and available to help drivers load and unload the truck if necessary.
• Preparing inventory for all estate donations; preparing all required documents for tax purposes.
• Keeping volunteer roster current, including phone numbers and days and times worked; distributing copies to appropriate individuals.
• Tracking and maintaining record of volunteer hours worked.
