About The Position

We are hiring a Threat Manager who will provide technical expertise to the Army’s Project Management Office (PMO), Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE), in Huntsville, AL. This role involves providing technical test management and subject matter expertise for the collection of broad-spectrum target and background radiometric data for the development of threat models, target models, aircraft targets, background scenes, and simulations. The Threat Manager will evaluate and enhance RF, IR, Visible, and UV sensor performance, evaluate signal processing, and assess countermeasures/counter-countermeasures techniques and processing. Additionally, the role requires providing technical expertise in the research and development of RF, IR, Visible, UV, and hyperspectral technology techniques, hardware, and systems for reducing the effects of environments and countermeasures on performance. The position also involves identifying parameters that directly influence the performance of PM ASE and related systems, performing analysis of hardware and software using various data sources to identify the cause of anomalies or failures, and conducting root-cause assessments of design problems. The Threat Manager will also participate in study teams and provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the development and integration of models, simulations, and threat simulators, as well as target systems, to support Test & Evaluation (T&E) as ASE systems evolve and to support new ASE acquisition programs. This includes developing and modifying models and simulations, developing procedures, and conducting integration, verification, and validation to ascertain fidelity. The role also requires describing hardware and software modification requirements, component replacements, integration requirements, and other changes necessary for T&E and system development, as well as developing procedures and conducting verification and validation of developed and/or modified targets.

Requirements

Must possess a current and active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
BS/BA + 10 years or MS/MA + 8 years or PhD + 6 years technical experience highly desired.
Must have specialized experience with current and future Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (cUAS) and threats against these systems.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience as a Threat Manager with the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC) and/or Sandia National Laboratories (SNL).
Preferred experience in threat programming and reprogramming.
Preferred background as a former Army Aviator with Aviation Mission Survivability Officer (AMSO) and/or Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical test management and subject matter expertise for the collection of broad-spectrum target and background radiometric data for the development of threat models, target models, aircraft targets, background scenes, and simulations.
Evaluate and enhance RF, IR, Visible, and UV sensor performance, evaluate signal processing, evaluate countermeasures/counter-countermeasures techniques and processing.

Identify parameters which directly influence performance of PM ASE and related systems.
Perform analysis of hardware and software using test data, simulation data, and/or Digital System Models to identify the cause of anomalies, failures, or unacceptable performance of a system, subsystem or component.
Perform comparative analysis to determine the advantages and disadvantages of different components and mechanizations, including algorithms and embedded software for ASE Products.
Conduct root-cause assessments of design problems identified in field exercises, range demonstrations, flight tests, laboratory experiments, digital system models, and simulations.
Participate in study teams, as required to address specific design issues and to make technical recommendations for Government consideration.
Provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the development and integration of models and simulation in support of identified operations, systems, and subsystems.
Develop new models or modify existing models, as required, for simulations from Government-furnished analysis, design, and test data IAW Government-furnished changes.
Develop procedures and conduct integration, verification, and validation of developed models and simulations in order to ascertain fidelity.
Provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the development and integration of new threat simulator(s) as required to support T&E as ASE systems evolve, and to support new ASE acquisition programs.
Provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the modification of existing simulation systems to support T&E as ASE systems evolve through development and testing.
Provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the development and integration of new target systems as required to support T&E as ASE systems evolve, and to support new ASE acquisition programs.
Provide technical management and subject matter expertise in the modification of existing target systems to support T&E as ASE systems evolve through development and testing.
Describe hardware and software modification requirements, replacement of existing components and subsystems, integration requirements, and other changes that are generated and required to support T&E and system development.
Develop procedures and conduct verification and validation of developed and/or modified targets in order to ascertain fidelity.
