About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Third Party Vendor Surveillance Inspector to join our Technical Inspection Services team in Grenada, MS. This role involves performing visual inspection of materials and/or fabricated equipment at vendor shops or on-site fabrication or testing facilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced in quality control inspections and tests, including nondestructive testing techniques, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, pressure testing, and coating inspections. This position requires travel of at least 50% of the time and is a temporary, full-time role working 40-50 hours per week for six months.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Welding/Brazing/Soldering standards with an ability to visually identify defects
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, P&IDs, specifications and design drawings
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial or comparable industries
  • Understanding of AWS standards; ISO 9001 Standards; or ISO 9001 Certification
  • Understanding of Quality Systems and methodologies for continuous improvement
  • HVAC experience
  • Comfortable using mobile device (tablet or laptop) to complete checklists
  • Must have basic knowledge of material properties
  • Possess clear understanding of basic procurement and fabrication processes with knowledge of relevant codes and specifications for the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the continental US
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
  • Proficient in MS Office programs and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Industry Certification preferred – Examples of such certifications include, but not limited to: AWS CWI, API 510, 570, SI, (Source Inspector), Electrical Journeyman License, NACE CIP 1, 2, 3, EMA (Expediting Management Association) Basic, Advanced, ASNT NDT Level II, III, and ASQ or IRCA Certified Auditor

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections or audits and reviewing testing for conformance to Client specifications, industry standards, and approved procedures and reporting of results
  • Review material test reports to conformance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform the follow-up of dispositions and corrective actions related to non-conformances
  • Document inspection activities in electronic formats
  • Evaluate and agree upon project quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring that all parties (engineering, procurement, manufacturing) are adhering to them
  • Review Inspection & Testing Plans to ensure a standardized minimum level of surveillance in accordance with the contractual requirements
  • Identify the critical inspections and tests to be witnessed by the Owner
  • Carry out inspection visits as per ITP’s either personally or through 3rd party resource
