About The Position

As a Third Party Liability Specialist in the Department of Human Services, you will take on meaningful work that helps recover funds and uphold accountability. Requirements

  • Four years of technical experience collecting, reviewing, or evaluating information for program eligibility or insurance limits of liability; or A bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze referrals and determine whether benefits were issued incorrectly
  • Collect information from attorneys, insurers, providers, and other parties to support claim decisions
  • Interpret state and federal laws to guide claim analysis and determine responsible parties
  • Discuss cases with interested parties and recommend fair settlement amounts
  • Maintain accurate case files and document important updates for future reference
  • Access and interpret information in electronic systems to support claim assessments
