About The Position

Hill International is seeking a Third Party Coordinator in Los Angeles, California. This role is responsible for coordination with third parties (city, county, state, federal and utility companies) that have a significant role in upcoming projects. The coordinator will monitor and support activities between developers/contractors and third parties, facilitate and participate in third party progress meetings and utility design and construction coordination meetings. They will also develop and implement protocols for review of design progression submittments, permit issuance, inspection, betterments, real property, escalation required for issue resolution, and payment mechanisms, etc. Additionally, the role involves developing reporting mechanisms to track progress on resolution of third-party issues and reviewing general project requirements, design criteria, and contract requirements of projects requiring third party coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or other related technical field.
  • 5+ years or more experience with third party coordination in Los Angeles.
  • Local experience with agencies such as the City and County of Los Angeles, CPUC, Caltrans, or LA Metro.
  • Familiarity with industry practices, codes, and regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of project wide challenges and inherent communications needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Be familiar with the Department of Public Works and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft systems, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, Prolog or other similar PMIS, Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other Scheduling Software preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and BIM 360.
  • Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, PMISP etc. or any other relevant professional licensure or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with third parties (city, county, state, federal and utility companies) that have a significant role in upcoming projects.
  • Monitor and support activities between developers/contractors and third parties.
  • Facilitate and participate in third party progress meetings and utility design and construction coordination meetings.
  • Delegate or prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action items, ball in court, completion deadlines, and solution/decision of prior issues.
  • Develop and implement protocols for review of design progression submittals, permit issuance, inspection, betterments, real property, escalation required for issue resolution, and payment mechanisms, etc.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms to track progress on resolution of third-party issues.
  • Review general project requirements, design criteria and contract requirements of projects requiring third party coordination.
