Facilities services at uOttawa are characterized by a dynamic and creative growing team focused on delivering best-in-class research infrastructure, reshaping campus life and student experience, and providing a sustainable environment. uOttawa’s facilities include over 600,000 square meters of building space, 42.5 hectares of grounds, 125 buildings, and 4,500 beds in 11 residences, managed by over 150 employees including Project Managers, Energy and Commissioning Specialists, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects, and Space Planners. The University has significant capital and operating expenditures, with a 20-year Capital spending plan envisioning $4.0 billion of new investment, including projects like Top Shelf and a new Advanced Medical Research Center (AMRC). The position's purpose is to perform tasks related to preventive and breakdown maintenance of the Power Plant and/or assist the Shift Engineer in the supervision and control of the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment throughout the campus facilities, under the authority of the Chief Operating Engineer.
