About The Position
Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. We are currently seeking a Thin Film Technician who will operate coating chamber systems to produce coated optical components.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Needs to be proficient in basic math and problem solving skills.
- Needs to have knowledge base of excel and other various Microsoft office products.
- Previous work experience in process manufacturing environment desired, but not required.
- Lifting requirements up to 50lbs
Responsibilities
- Understands and promotes a safe environment.
- Sets up tooling (installs spacers/tooling as needed) (help assembles backers) (knows how to locate tooling).
- Load/unload parts into chambers as needed.
- Understands chemicals that are used throughout the lab and how to dispose of them.
- Foils chambers
- Changes targets
- Performs basic spectrophotometer scans of optical components
- Performs regens
- Bead blasts tooling
- Starts coating runs
- Knows the chamber status of their area
- Can perform simple crystal error recoveries
- Performs and supports 6S activities as directed.
- Knows chamber cleanliness and how it affects quality.
- Works effectively within teams
- Other duties as assigned
