The TFL Operator will have responsibility for the overall manufacture of thick foam product to be used by the Statesville operation. Responsibilities will include: Setup, startup, and monitoring of extrusion equipment and all related processes, programming, setup, and operation of cutter and edge grinders, performing quality tests and accountability for product quality, data collection and computer entry of quality and production data, operation of the reclaim extruder, inventory control, and off-line activities as needed . In this position, you will… Operate machinery safely and effectively while maintaining maximum productivity and efficiency of the production process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must demonstrate mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Be able to use and understand basic math
  • Must have computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions/manuals
  • Physically capable of handling material that does not exceed 40 pounds
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and obtain a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Training and filling in for other positions within the department and facility
  • Accurately read gauges and measuring devices.
  • Keeping accurate count to product produced.
  • Learning basic SAP transactions as related to position and department.
  • Reading and understanding daily run schedules and communicate plan with team members
  • Adhering to the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of debris, including sweeping, mopping, and removing waste materials.
  • Maintain proper paperwork as required by position and department; quality, productivity, audits, checklists, etc.
  • Maintain proper speed to achieve production goals.
  • Works to ensure line is meeting minimum scrap levels as defined by production.
  • Identify quality issues on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provides for and maintains a safe work environment with proper training and communications.
