About The Position

This role involves transferring product from the production line to shipping boxes for storage and shipment. The position operates on 12-hour shifts. Key responsibilities include transferring product to a worktable, measuring stack length for proper packaging, using a propane torch to burn rough edges and plastic "hairs" off the product, and using a compressed air hose to remove any remaining melted material. The role may also involve rotating duties with another packer, training new hires, forming and transferring cardboard shipping boxes, lids, and gaylords to the pallet lift, placing plastic bags in shipping boxes and gaylords, and communicating with the forklift for pallet transfers. Ancillary duties may include cleaning the work area, cutting sheets of plates under operator supervision, assisting the operator when the line goes down by cutting/rolling sheets or pulling patties, and cleaning the trim press of excess grease.

Requirements

  • Ability to transfer product from the production line to shipping boxes.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer product from the production line to shipping boxes for storage and shipment.

  • Transfer product from the packing worktable to the shipping boxes.
  • Form and transfer cardboard shipping boxes, lids and gaylords to the pallet lift.
  • Transfer pallets from stack to the pallet lift.
  • Place plastic bags in the shipping boxes and gaylords.
  • Place lab calls on intercom for forklift to transfer completed pallets to staging area.
  • Clean work area by sweeping and dusting.
  • Cut the sheets of plates to stop production, under operator supervision.
  • Assist operator when the line goes down by cutting & rolling sheets or pulling patties.
  • Clean trim press of excess grease.
  • Train new hires.
