About The Position

The Metallus Internship Program is designed to integrate interns into the team, offering opportunities for skill development, leadership growth, and networking with managers and leaders. The program provides real work experience in a team environment and supports career readiness through workshops on topics like resume building and interview preparation. This specific internship assignment is full-time for Summer 2027, starting on 05/17/2027. The intern will support production and continuous improvement initiatives within the Thermal Treat department, focusing on monitoring process performance, tracking production delays, analyzing productivity, and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The role involves working directly with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, throughput, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester
  • Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university

  • Preferred majors: Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related

Responsibilities

  • Support production and continuous improvement initiatives within the Thermal Treat department.
