About The Position

Responsible for the production of high quality spray-coated products. This role involves various tasks related to preparing, coating, and finishing products using thermal spray techniques. The specialist will operate and maintain equipment, potentially including programmable robotic equipment and NC/CNC machines. They will also be responsible for fixture fabrication, maintaining spray guns, and training other employees. A key aspect of the role is ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 7 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Possesses advanced understanding of established procedures and ability to apply knowledge to unusual and/or complex production problems that may require fixture fabrication.
  • Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity, requiring extensive knowledge in a wide range of product specific manufacturing systems.
  • Must be able to understand and use all applicable measuring equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to work in any position in the department and operate majority of equipment.
  • Performs detail oriented tasks utilizing good hand-eye coordination and intermediate language and math skills.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform operations to ensure proper preparation and cleanliness of products.
  • Perform tasks such as metal grinding and/or finishing of all coated product as well as pre-grind processes.
  • Perform tasks requiring successful thermal spray coat of all materials used in department such as Ceramic, Rokide, Nickels, & Carbides.
  • Operate and maintain programmable robotic equipment.
  • Prepare for thermal spraying of components and/or products using blueprints and calibration equipment.
  • Build and maintain fixtures for component processing.
  • Perform moderately complex NC/CNC thermal spraying activities.
  • Repair/rebuild spray gun(s).
  • Willingly accept responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge; train other employees on equipment and process flow.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.
  • Understand and meet or exceed quality standards; seek to minimize reject rate.
  • Assist in any and all areas as assigned.
  • May work any and all shifts/days as required.
