Working alongside technicians on the manufacturing floor, the engineer provides direction for assembling and testing hardware integrated onto spacecraft. The position also supports design for manufacturability, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives while delivering high-quality products on schedule. The engineer is expected to develop a deep understanding of each product, its design history and intent, and the on-orbit mission it must perform. The position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline is required, although four years of related work experience may substitute for the degree. The salary range for California is $67,000 to $111,000 annually. Benefits include paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and a 401(k), subject to eligibility.
